A poster competition designed to create a forum for networking will be hosted by The Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group (MICG) at a leading industry event.
MICG will be exhibiting at The Advanced Ceramics Show at the NEC in May, and is inviting academics and business leaders from across the sector to sign up to the competition.
Posters are sought around the key themes of Process Innovation, Product Innovation and Ceramics 4.0 (Data Modelling), creating an opportunity for networking and exchange of ideas at the event.
Dr Gilda Gasparini, of Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group, said: “MICG launched the poster competition at last year’s Advanced Ceramics Show and it was a great success.
“There was much discussion around the ideas showcased in the poster gallery and it was a great opportunity for researchers to showcase their work to both academia and industry colleagues.”
The deadline for abstract submissions is 28th March. Poster confirmations will be issued on 12th April and posters will be displayed on the MICG stand throughout The Advanced Ceramics Show on 15th and 16th May.
Judging will take place on the first day of the show and candidates are expected to attend at 1pm for questions from the judges.
Prizes sponsored by MICG members will be presented for the winning projects.

MICG is made up of blue-chip companies including Rolls-Royce, Morgan Advanced Materials and Foseco, as well as SMEs including Lucideon, Precision Ceramics and PCL – together with the universities of Birmingham, Leicester and Loughborough.
MICG secured £18.27 million government funding, provided through UK Research and Innovation’s flagship Strength in Places Fund (SIPF), in October 2022.
The poster activity is part of the SIPF’s programme activities under its workstream covering education, skills and diversity.
