Researchers and innovators in advanced ceramics are invited to submit entries to a poster competition designed to spark discussions and forge connections at this year’s Advanced Ceramics Show.
Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group will once again host its Alan McLelland Poster Competition, with submissions invited from academia and industry across three key themes of process innovation, product innovation and Ceramics 4.0.
Posters will be assessed for technical content as well as clarity of communication and industrial application awareness.
Dr Gilda Gasparini of Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group said: “The poster competition has become an excellent showcase for new innovations and ideas from across industry and academia.
“As well as being a talking point throughout the Advanced Ceramics Show, the display of posters creates opportunities to network and connect with like-minded experts in the field.
“This will be the fourth year MICG has hosted the competition and the feedback from entrants, judges and show delegates has been extremely positive with further collaborations developing from conversations about the posters.”
Anyone working in or researching advanced ceramics across industry or academia can enter the competition.
The first stage requires a 100-word abstract to be submitted to MICG by Friday 24th April, along with details including full name, affiliation, email, chosen theme, poster title and the details of the presenter if different from the applicant.
Entries should be made via email to sharon.foster@uk.lucideon.com and confirmation of poster acceptance will then be issued by Friday 22nd May with poster designs due for completion by Friday 19th June.
Posters will go on display at the Advanced Ceramics Show, NEC Birmingham, from 9.30am on July 8th and judging will take place between 1pm and 2pm with candidates present to answer questions.
Representatives from MICG members will act as judges and sponsor prizes for the winning projects, which will be announced at 4.30pm.
Posters will remain on display throughout the second day of the show on July 9th.
